Have Fun Choosing Wellness
Hi Byte Wellness Fam!
How are you feeling?
I’m pumped!
Let me tell you why.
One of our community members replied to last week’s newsletter to share how she’s been approaching the 28-Day DANCE Challenge…by line-dancing! Belinda line-dances for hours every week with a crew called the Hollywood Showliners. And, she started long before our challenge began.
Not only are these ladies dancing their way to wellness, but they (and their moves) starred in a music video from the Bar-Kays featuring Jazze Pha.
Anyone who thinks they can age out of exercise (or fun for that matter) needs to watch these folks work.
According to Belinda, the oldest member of the group turned 81 recently, and there are handfuls of others in their 60s and 70s. When I tell you these ladies are HITTING their moves…whew! They are incredible.
All right, I could go on forever praising the Hollywood Showliners’ skills and commitment. But, we’ll leave it here.
Thanks to Belinda Kerusch for sharing with us!
Have you been in your own dancing bag? We’re wrapping up the 28-Day DANCE Challenge tomorrow. But, it’s not too late to join!
if you haven’t been getting the text messages, you can start at the beginning (Day 1) of the challenge by texting DANCE to 1(224)302-6224.
Whether or not you’ve followed along via text, I hope you’ll dance along with our recording from the 4th Virtual Dance Party of the Challenge. See above.
Discussion Question
Outside of this challenge, when and where do you usually dance- at special events, with certain people?
This question is a good way to figure out what our natural movement triggers are so we can boost them. Do we dance when we see a certain group of people because we have fun together or because we they’re part of a dance crew? Do we dance in a certain room of the house? (I can’t help doing a little jig in front of my full-length bedroom mirror, lol). Whatever our natural movement triggers are, we can use the APPLE framework to incorporate those triggers into a movement routine that turns into an automatic movement habit.
