Hi, I’m Dr. Wuse (creator of Byte Wellness). This Share & Savor course is a collaboration between Araba Esoun, a Black vegan chef, and Byte Wellness. We originally built this course to help plant-based beginners feel confident and comfortable in their wellness journey- no matter where they’re starting from. It turns out, this course has something everyone…even people who eat meat!

What Can Veggies and Whole Grains Do For Me?

Okay. It may sound like I’m exaggerating when I say that eating a whole food, plant-heavy diet is transformative. But I’m not. Black communities are disproportionately affected by so many of the lifestyle-related diseases that plague Americans.

Eating more veggies can lower the risk of developing these diseases (including overweight and obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke, breast cancer and colon cancer)! Plus, when people who already have these conditions start eating more vegetables and other whole foods, they see long-term improvements in their health.

Seriously- plenty of scientific studies prove it.

But, if you’re not used to eating a full plate of veggies and you don’t usually cook with them, it’s hard to flip that switch and start eating more. And, even if you’ve successfully committed to piling your plate with plant goodness everyday, it’s easy to fall into a recipe rut.

That’s where Share & Savor comes in. We take you step-by-step through the process of cooking Chef Araba’s delicious recipes. And we even teach you some insider plant-based nutrition tips so you can make smarter decisions about meal choices once the training wheels are off.

Can I learn from Share & Savor if I’m not a plant-based eater?

The Share & Savor course includes a combination of videos, worksheets and written guides, Chef Araba shows you how to build whole food plant-based recipes and explores the mindset that supported her plant-based transition. Meanwhile, I explain the science behind the health benefits of eating more whole foods.

We’ve learned from our users that Share & Savor is more than just a plant-based guide. It’s an excellent tool for anyone looking to eat more veggies, improve the quality of their diet or shake up their current routine. You don’t have to be a plant-based eater to benefit from this course. We even cover practical topics like “where to find veggies if you live in a food desert” and “how to navigate a farmers’ market”.

Chef Araba’s Testimony

A few years ago, Chef Araba made a radical transition to plant-based eating. Sure, she wanted to lose weight. But, mainly, after watching her family members suffer from Type 2 diabetes, she was determined to do everything she could to create a different future for herself.

It turns out that Chef Araba lost 90 pounds after transitioning to plant-based eating...and she kept it off! She's proof that no matter how long you've been eating the disease-linked Standard American Diet (S.A.D.), which is heavy on sugar, saturated fat, salt and red meat, it's never too late to shift toward more fortifying habits.

Araba became a plant-based Chef/Educator with a plant-based eating platform (S.A.D. to S.O.L, “from the Standard American Diet to Save-oring Our Lives”). Now she helps other people realize their own wellness goals the way she did!

She teamed up with me, at Byte Wellness, so we could share her plant-based blueprint with you.
